The climate of Dakar

What is the capital of Senegal? Dakar is the capital of the African country of Senegal. Located on the west coast of Africa, the city is best known for the Dakar Rally, which always held Dakar from 1978 to 2007. Dakar was usually the finish place of the rally, which was originally called Paris-Dakar. After the 2008 edition was canceled due to terrorist threats, the rally has been moved to South America from 2009 onwards.

Dakar has a warm steppe climate, with an average of about six hundred millimeters of precipitation per year. Precipitation falls entirely in the form of rain. This mainly happens during the rainy season, which runs from July to mid-October.
