The climate of Dushanbe

What is the capital of Tajikistan? The city of Dushanbe (international: Dushanbe) is located in western Tajikistan and is the capital of the country. Dushanbe has only been in existence since 1924 and was called Stalinabad for several decades under the former Soviet administration. The spacious city has a warm Mediterranean climate (type Csa), which is quite unique for a place that is at least hundreds of kilometers from a large sea or ocean. Dushanbe has fairly mild winters, with average maximum temperatures well above freezing and minimum temperatures just below zero. After a relatively short spring, summer arrives at the end of May, which is characterized by high temperatures (usually somewhere between 30 and 38 degrees during the day), lots of sun and virtually no precipitation. A total of 653 millimeters of precipitation falls annually, in which the months of March and April together already account for about a third of the entire precipitation sum.
