What is the capital of Slovenia? Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and is located in the central part of the country, on the Ljubljanica River. Ljubljana is also the largest city in the country, the old center of the city is a beautiful mixture due to many different architectural styles. The younger parts of the city were mostly built during the communist era and therefore have a much more sober architectural style. The most beautiful and eye-catching structure in Ljubljana has to be the castle.
