The climate of Muscat

What is the capital of Oman? Muscat (also written as Muscat) is the capital of Oman, the easternmost country in the Arabian Peninsula. Muscat is enclosed between the Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman. The Muscat conurbation with its suburbs now has around one million inhabitants and is for many tourists the start and end point of their holiday in Oman. The sights of Muscat are the many museums that the city has, the two Hindu temples and the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which has been the largest mosque in Muscat since 2001. The city also has attractive hotels located on the beach. Well-known chains such as Hyatt, InterContinental, Shangri-La and Crown Plaza are represented here with luxury hotels.

Muscat has a desert climate, with warm winters and sweltering summers. In the hottest months, temperatures easily reach forty to sometimes as much as fifty degrees in the shade. During the winter months it is pleasantly warm, with around 25 to 30 degrees during the day and very pleasant temperatures at night of just below or around twenty degrees. In total there is a little less than a hundred millimeters of rain in Muscat on an annual basis. It almost all falls in the winter period, with a slight peak of 38 mm (average) in the month of March. That is also the time when the milder winter season turns into the hot summer season.
