The climate of Nairobi

Founded in 1899, Nairobi was proclaimed the capital of Kenya just six years later. A low point in Nairobi’s history was the bloody bombing of the United States embassy in 1998. Nairobi has a subtropical highland climate, which shows strong similarities with the warm maritime climate according to the Köppen system. There is little contrast between temperatures within a year.
