The climate of the Dodevlei

The Dodevlei is a white clay plain with some dead trees that is surrounded by some of the largest dunes in the world. You have the best view of this special vlei from the top of these dunes, which is a particularly tough climb. Still, the final view you have from these dunes is totally worth it. The best time to do this is at sunrise. The light that slowly slides over the orange sand dunes is a sight to remember. The centuries-old acacia trees on the Dodevlei once stood on the riverbed of the Tsauchab River, but were blocked from the river by the shifting dunes. The trees dried up, but did not perish. The sun-blackened trees are now a popular tourist attraction.

The warm desert climate in the Dodevlei

According to bridgat.com, the Deadvlei has a warm desert climate, with warm, hot days throughout the year and extremely low precipitation rates. The average daytime temperature in the summer period (our winter) is between thirty and thirty-five degrees Celsius, which is extremely warm.
