The State Route 5 or State Road 5 (SR-5) is a state route in the U.S. state of Florida. State Road 5 is the unsigned administrative number for US 1 from Key West to the Georgia border at Kingsland. This route is 864 kilometers long. An 11-kilometer-long stretch from Lantana to West Palm Beach deviates from US 1 and is signposted here. In Jacksonville, the road forms a short freeway as an overpass over US 1.

Lantana – West Palm Beach
In Lantana, State Road 5 branches off from US 1 and then follows Federal Highway, a city road that runs parallel to US 1 for a short distance. The road is single-lane and runs through the center of West Palm Beach. At the north end of West Palm Beach, the road ends again at US 1.
Jacksonville
In Jacksonville, State Road 5 forms a short freeway that is actually an exit from Interstate 95 to the Main Street Bridge over the St. Johns River. In Downtown Jacksonville, the road splits into a number of streets.
History
State Route 5 is the administrative number of US 1 in Florida, which runs from Key West to the Georgia border. Usually this is a minor road parallel to Interstate 95. State Route 5 forms a freeway through Jacksonville.
In July 1941, the Main Street Bridge at Downtown Jacksonville opened to traffic over the St. Johns River. In 1958, the southern connecting section to I-95 opened to traffic. In 1978, the flyovers opened on the north side of the bridge to the various streets in downtown Jacksonville.

State Route 6 or State Road 6 (SR-6) is a state route in the U.S. state of Florida. The road forms an east-west route in the far north of the state, between Madison and Jasper. The route is 44 kilometers long.
Travel directions
State Road 6 connects US 90 in Madison and US 41 in Jasper. A quarter of the total route coincides with parts of these US Highways, the actual individual route is 34 kilometers long. The road leads through a rural area with meadows and some forest. There are no places directly on the route, the road starts east of Madison and ends west of Jasper. Just before Jasper is a connection to Interstate 75.
History
Today’s State Road 6 was created as an east-west route in northern Florida during the 1945 renumbering. The route originally continued east to US 441 in Benton, but the section between Jasper and Benton was later given county road status.

State Route 7 or State Road 7 (SR-7) is a state route in the U.S. state of Florida. State Road 7 is largely the administrative number of US 441 in the Miami area. The route runs north from Miami to Loxahatchee and is 113 kilometers long. Only the northernmost 10 kilometers between Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee is not part of US 441. This is an urban arterial like the rest of the route.

State Route 8 or State Road 8 is a state route in the U.S. state of Florida. State Road 8 is the administrative and unsigned number of Interstate 10, which runs from the Alabama border at Pensacola through the Florida Panhandle through the state capital Tallahassee to the eastern city of Jacksonville. I-10 and with it State Road 8 is 583 kilometers long.

State Route 9 or State Road 9 (SR-9) is a state route in the U.S. state of Florida. State Road 9 is almost entirely the administrative and unsigned track of Interstate 95 from Golden Glades to the Georgia border north of Jacksonville. In the Miami area, however, State Road 9 also forms an individual route for a distance of 22 kilometers that does not coincide with I-95. The total route is 617 kilometers long.

Miami – Golden Glades
State Road 9 is a major urban arterial through Miami and some of its suburbs. State Road 9 begins in Miami on US 1, then follows SW 27th Avenue, then NW 27th Avenue north. This is a major city road with four to six lanes and a large number of traffic lights. In the northern suburb of Opa-Locka, the road bends northeast and forms a 2×2 divided highway until the large Golden Glades Interchange, where State Road 9 becomes Interstate 95.

History
State Road 9 was created when the state roads were renumbered in 1945. At the time, it only ran between US 1 in Miami and US 441 in Golden Glades, where the interchange with I-95 was later constructed. After that, State Road 9 became the administrative number for almost all of I-95, from the Golden Glades Interchange to the Georgia border.
In Miami there was originally a cloverleaf with the State Road 836 (Dolphin Expressway). This was reconstructed in 2018 into a diverging diamond interchange. The DDI opened to traffic on August 13, 2018.
