Angola has several rivers that flow through it including Cuanza River which flows from east to west across Angola’s central plateau before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean near Luanda; Okavango River which runs along Angola’s eastern border with Namibia; Cubango River which forms a portion of Angola’s border with Namibia; Kunene River which forms a portion of Angola’s border with Namibia and Zambia; Zambezi River which runs along Angola’s western border with Zambia; Kwanza River which flows through central Angola from east to west before emptying into Atlantic Ocean near Luanda; Cuango River which runs along Angola’s northern border with Democratic Republic of Congo; and Kasai River which forms a portion of Angola’s border with Democratic Republic of Congo. Angola’s climate is generally tropical but varies depending on altitude. In general, temperatures are hot throughout most of the year but there are cooler temperatures in higher elevations such as on mountaintops or during certain seasons such as winter months when temperatures can drop below freezing at night in some parts.
