According to wholevehicles, Bosnia and Herzegovina is located on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. It is bordered by Croatia to the north, west, and south, Serbia to the east, and Montenegro to the southeast. The country has a total area of 51,197 square kilometers (19,741 square miles). Bosnia is mountainous and covered by dense forests. The Dinaric Alps dominate the western border of the country while other mountain ranges such as Vranica and Pljesevica are found in central Bosnia. The highest peak is Maglic at 2,386 meters (7,828 feet). The Drina River forms one of its eastern borders with Serbia. This river and its tributaries have created a number of gorges that are popular tourist attractions. Bosnia also has a number of lakes including Bileca Lake in Herzegovina which is known for its crystal clear waters. The climate is continental with hot summers and cold winters.
