According to wholevehicles, Burundi is a landlocked country in East Africa. It is bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west, Rwanda to the north, and Tanzania to the east and south. The terrain consists of high plateaus and hills with deep valleys in between. The highest point in Burundi is Mount Heha at 2,685 meters (8,810 feet). The country has an estimated population of 11 million people. Burundi has two main rivers that flow through it: the Ruvubu River which runs along its eastern border with Tanzania, and the Kagera River which forms part of its western border with Congo. These rivers provide water for irrigation and fishing as well as hydropower for electricity generation. There are also numerous lakes throughout Burundi including Lake Tanganyika, Lake Victoria, Lake Rwihinda, and others. The climate in Burundi is tropical with two distinct seasons: a wet season from October to May and a dry season from June to September. Temperatures can range from 20°C (68°F) during the dry season to up to 30°C (86°F) during the wet season. Rainfall varies across the country but generally averages about 1 meter (3 feet) per year on average. Burundi’s landscape is mostly covered by savannah grasslands interspersed with mountains and hillsides covered in lush vegetation such as bamboo forests and banana groves. There are also areas of dense tropical rainforest located in parts of Burundi near some of its lakes and rivers. Wildlife includes antelopes, buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffes, monkeys, crocodiles and many species of birds such as egrets and flamingos. See bridgat for weather information in Burundi.
