According to wholevehicles, Cameroon is located in Central Africa and is bordered by six countries including Nigeria, Chad, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Republic of the Congo. The terrain of Cameroon is very diverse and includes mountains, rainforests, savannas, deserts and coastal areas. In the north and east of Cameroon lies the semi-arid Sahel region which consists of grassy plains and sandy dunes. In the south lies the tropical rainforest region which has a wet climate with heavy rainfall throughout the year. Further south are the grassy savannas which are home to a variety of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, antelopes and monkeys. In central Cameroon lies one of Africa’s most active volcanoes – Mount Cameroon – which rises over 4100 metres above sea level. Further west is a coastal area with numerous beaches along its shores that are popular for swimming and snorkeling. Cameroon has two main rivers – The Sanaga River in the south which flows into the Atlantic Ocean; and The Logone River in the north that forms part of the border with Chad before emptying into Lake Chad. There are also several smaller rivers such as The Nyong River in central Cameroon; The Benue River in eastern Cameroon; The Kadei River in northern Cameroon; And The Lomami River in western Cameroon. These rivers provide an important source of water for both humans and animals alike. Cameroon has an abundance of natural resources including oil reserves located off its coast; vast quantities of timber from its forests; rich soil suitable for agriculture; gold deposits located mainly in central and western regions; cobalt reserves located mainly around Mount Oku near Bamenda; uranium deposits located near Ngaoundere city; And bauxite found mainly near Banyo city. All these resources have made it possible for Cameroon to become one of Africa’s leading producers of oil, timber, cotton, cocoa beans and coffee beans among other commodities making it an important economic player on the continent.
