According to wholevehicles, Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa and is bordered by Eritrea to the north, Djibouti and Somalia to the east, and Sudan and South Sudan to the west. The country has an area of 1,104,300 square kilometers (425,873 square miles) and a coastline along the Red Sea. Ethiopia is divided into nine regions for administrative purposes. The terrain of Ethiopia consists mainly of high plateaus which are separated by deep gorges and valleys. The highest point in Ethiopia is Mount Ras Dejen at 4,543 meters (14,872 feet). This mountain is located in the Semien Mountains National Park which is part of the Ethiopian Highlands. These highlands are located in central and northern Ethiopia and consist of rolling hills with a few mountains scattered throughout. To the east of these highlands lies a desert region known as Ogaden while to the south there are hot lowland plains surrounded by some mountains. In addition to these geographical features, there are also several rivers in Ethiopia such as the Blue Nile which originates from Lake Tana in northwestern Ethiopia.
