According to wholevehicles, Montenegro is located in southeastern Europe, situated on the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Croatia to the west, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the northwest, Serbia to the northeast, Kosovo to the east and Albania to the south. Montenegro has a total area of 13,812 km2 (5,333 sq mi), making it one of Europe’s smallest countries. It is a mountainous country with many peaks reaching over 2000 meters above sea level. The Durmitor mountain range located in northern Montenegro is part of the Dinaric Alps and contains Bobotov Kuk peak which is its highest point at 2523 meters above sea level. The Tara River Canyon which lies within Durmitor National Park is one of Europe’s deepest canyons at 1300 meters deep. The Bay of Kotor or Boka Kotorska lies along Montenegro’s southwestern coast and is one of Europe’s most stunning coastal areas with its Venetian-style towns and numerous islands scattered across its waters. The climate in Montenegro ranges from Mediterranean along its coastline up to continental climate in extreme northern parts of Montenegro. Summers are generally hot while winters can be quite cold especially in higher altitudes where snowfall can occur during winter months. Rainfall in Montenegro occurs mostly during spring and autumn months when temperatures are milder than during summertime. The country has abundant natural resources such as oil, coal and timber as well as rich mineral deposits including copper, zinc, iron ore and bauxite reserves which have yet to be fully exploited due to lack of large-scale investment projects within the country so far.
