According to wholevehicles, Sao Tome and Principe is an island nation located off the west coast of Central Africa, in the Gulf of Guinea. It is composed of two main islands—Sao Tome, which is the larger and more populous of the two, and Principe—as well as several smaller islands. The country has a total area of just over 1,000 square kilometers, making it one of the smallest countries in Africa. The geography of Sao Tome and Principe is characterized by its lush tropical rainforests, white-sand beaches, and clear blue waters. The highest point in the country is Pico de Sao Tome, a 2,024-meter volcano located on Sao Tome Island. The slopes around this peak are covered with lush vegetation and offer spectacular views. The coastline is dotted with small coves, bays and lagoons that are perfect for swimming or snorkeling. Inland from the coast are rolling hills and valleys filled with dense vegetation that provide a home for many species of birds and other wildlife.
