According to wholevehicles, Thailand is a Southeast Asian country that is located in the middle of the Indochina peninsula. It is bordered by Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia to the east and northeast, and Malaysia and the Gulf of Thailand to the south. The country has an area of 513,120 km2 (198,115 sq mi) making it slightly smaller than France. The terrain consists mostly of highlands in the north, while the central region has plains with some low mountain ranges. The southern region is mainly composed of tropical rainforests with abundant wildlife. Along its coastline are many beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear waters that make it a popular destination for tourists. The climate in Thailand can be divided into three seasons: hot season (March-May), rainy season (June-October), and cool season (November-February). Temperatures during the hot season can reach up to 37°C (98°F). During this time, there are frequent thunderstorms that bring heavy rains throughout the country. During the rainy season, temperatures are cooler but also accompanied by heavy rains and occasional flooding in some areas. The cool season brings cooler temperatures with an average temperature of around 25°C (77°F). Thailand also has many rivers that flow from mountains to its coastlines including Chao Phraya River which flows through Bangkok before emptying into the Gulf of Thailand. In addition to rivers there are also numerous large lakes throughout Thailand such as Khao Laem Lake which is located in Kanchanaburi Province near Myanmar border. There are also several islands off the coast such as Koh Samui and Koh Chang that attract tourists due to their beautiful beaches and diverse wildlife.
