US 302 in Vermont comes from Montpelier and leads through the White Mountains of New Hampshire, a moderately mountainous area with lots of forest. The only larger town on the route is Littleton, where it crosses Interstate 93. To the east, the route leads somewhat to the southeast. US 302 in Maine then continues towards Lewiston. US 302 is a single carriageway.
